On November 24, Stantec announced they have offered to acquire Jacques Whitford. The transaction is expected to be completed in January 2009, subject to satisfactory due diligence, regulatory approvals, and Jacques Whitford shareholder approval.

Jacques Whitfordis an environmental consulting services firm with more than 1,700 employees and 40 offices throughout the US and Canada. Services they provide include: environmental sciences, environmental site assessment and remediation, and geotechnical materials to the energy & resource, government, and real estate, finance & insurance market sectors.
Stantec provides professional consulting services in planning, engineering, architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, surveying, environmental sciences, project management, and project economics for infrastructure and facilities projects.
