There has been a lot of chatter lately in Chicago about the Sears Tower; mainly in regards to the name change to The Willis Tower. However, in a recent release, there is more news:
The Sears Willis Tower is Going Green….
- Changes to the tower will cut its electric consumption by 80%.
- Change all 16,000 windows, introducing double-paned glass with an insulating layer of film in between.
- Would create 3,600 jobs, including short-term construction work.
- Cost about $350 million.
- 50-story hotel that would feature “net zero” use of energy.
