Either this story did not hit the mainstream media as well as it should have, or I was living under a rock earlier this week.
The story is amazing and too important to try and summarize, but in short, several construction employees of Cramer & Associates were working nearby on a pedestrian bridge when they noticed two elderly folks go over a dam. When trained professionals rescue attempts failed, and the risk of the 67-year old woman going into shock, the crew acted immediately by latching an employee to a crane, and lowering him into the rapids.
She lived.

Kudos goes out to Cramer & Associates and their employees for their call to 911, assistance in attempts to rescue, and bravery. In a time where all I seem to read is failures in construction, corners cut, and the economy, it was really nice to read this story.
